Homework to do before Paris– November Session

Knowing : Read and write book report (Here’s how to do a book report) on the following book:

The book is available in several languages, feel free to chose the best language for yourself

Here is a common version of the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed.
Read it through carefully a few times and then consider the questions that follow

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father; by whom all things were made:
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;
And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father;
And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke by the Prophets;
And we believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.
We look for the Resurrection of the dead,
And the Life of the age to come. Amen.

Questions to consider

  • What, if anything, makes you uncomfortable with the statements of this creed?
  • Are there any statements or sentences that you find confusing?
  • If you were to be involved in writing such a creed are there things you would like to add? or remove?

Doing:

– Chose the scripture and main idea that you intend to use for your sermon in Munich.

– Watch the rest of the sermon “Spiritual Armor Bearers” from Manny Dokyi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdycAlbl_Kc&t=1140s). His sermon has 3 sub points, and one clear main point (the main point was discussed during the Online ESOM session on 25.10). For each of his 3 points, write one to two sentences about how he connects it to his main point and uses it to support his main point. Turn this in to Jon, Jack or Austen in English before Paris (7.11.2025)

– Watch or listen to “Diary of a CEO” 21 minute clip on speaking style (On Youtube: 20:17-41:20 https://youtu.be/oIiv_335yus?si=rtMkNmjfnJTPiywP&t=1217 – Also available pre clipped on Spotify: https://spotify.link/fetZyLHBKXb  or Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/most-replayed-moment-captivate-a-room-even-if-youre/id1291423644?i=1000728512364&l=en-GB ) The full episode would be helpful, especially if watched as a video, but this is not required (Full episode links for Spotify https://spotify.link/Wysvxt2BKXb  and Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/the-public-speaking-expert-this-speaking-mistake/id1291423644?i=1000698542917&l=en-GB)
